What does being a responsible laptop user mean?
Well, firstly you need to look after it - protect it from damage or harm. Secondly, you also need to use it wisely and with purpose.
Being a responsible laptop user means that your school laptop can truly be a tool that supports your learning and helps you be the most successful middle schooler you can be.
The main thing to keep in mind:
Each advisory, as a group, commits to doing their best to uphold the rules and expectations of being a responsible laptop user.
While being a responsible laptop user is an individual task, if everyone is living up to the same expectations, reminding each other about laptop care and rules, then you will all be successful.
We all have the potential to make mistakes, either by lack of thinking or by making poor choices.
Actions that might cause you to receive some kind of disciplinary action, loss of 'take home' privilege or the complete loss of use of your laptop:
repeated not having your laptop protected by the hardcase AND padded bag
leaving your laptop unattended/misplacing your laptop through carelessness
downloading and using torrenting/P2P software to pirate games, music, movies, etc
sharing inappropriate content/malware/nuisance scripts to others
disrupting others with unnecessary chats
playing games or watching videos during class time
interfering with another student's laptop
purposely damaging a school laptop
